My Personal Dedication Page

Often, we lose someone very close, be they family or friend. In my case it was my youngest brother whom I adored and was very close to. To add to the pain, his wife died just a year and a bit later. This page I dedicate to them.

          Kieron

          1949 -1994

Kieron was the youngest of five children, myself being the only girl and closest in age to him, we were very close. Although he married and moved away to the south, he was a frequent visitor to my home and I to his. He and his Yugoslav wife Nena had four beautiful children. He was very successful and had a great future. He was a talented actor and musician and was well respected amongst his peers. After his children came along, he gave up the dramatics and worked his way up to a managerial position in a very large British company. He always kept up with his music though, and performed regularly. I received a phone call one day. It was Kieron, he was very down and I knew that he was trying to tell me something. He finally did tell me. He had been told that he had between six and twelve months to live. Sadly, he didn't last six weeks. Happily, I nursed him in his final days. I miss you my darling brother.

A sigh, a breath of wind, a haunting tune familiar to my ears, I know that you are near me.

A sound, a sight, a thought of times gone by, our childhood days endear me.

Rest little brother for I am happy in the knowlege that we shall meet again.

          Nena (Nevenka Ana)

Nena, lovely Nena. Beloved wife and Mother. You had to know her to understand her.......a very complex person. She was born in Split, Yugoslavia and met my brother in London. They were together for a couple of years and then had a lovely formal wedding at the place of Kieron's birth. They were married for 19 years and then the tragedy of my brother's illness suddenly engulfed her. Everyone mis-understood you Nena, but I knew what you were feeling. I think of you withlove and sorrow.

The silver tint of the clouds beckoned you from above,

A lost soul, a broken heart, wandering without your love,

Then no more tears could your eyes weep, 'till finally you fell asleep..

          Now re-united with your love

You both guide your children from above.

After my Brother's funeral, someone sent me a booklet and enclosed was the verse footprints. I found it very comforting, yet still get a lump in my throat. It is worth a read.
